TED TURNER'S $1 BILLION GIFT TO THE UNITED NATIONS
I don't know about you, but many Americans are making a great deal less money than they were making (say) ten years ago, and more than the government would like to admit are making less than $20,000/year. It's tough to live on that, especially if you've got kids, and, like many, don't get health benefits. And then there's the compulsory car insurance.
Just stop to think for a moment that just the interest alone on that gift of Ted Turner's-- 400 new people each week could be earning an extra $5000 per year.Or how about almost 21,000 people each year $5000 better off?
Some dittohead out there is bound to say that if we increase our wages our products will be less competitive. Well, have him/her explain to us all how the Germans have an average wage of better than $26/hour and manage to sell anything. It's because they make stuff the world wants, and so do we-- make no mistake about that.
These guys keep our wages low because they don't want to give YOU the profits.
I was going to say charity belongs at home-- but this has nothing to do with charity-- that money gets made on the backs of the people who make this country work.
